Appointed to project manage the $97 million upgrade of the Nadi International Airport terminal, Thinc has teamed up with international consultancy EC Harris to deliver the commission, providing strategic advice, commercial modelling and traffic forecasting services.
The Thinc/EC Harris team was appointed by Airports Fiji Limited (AFL) due to its unique strategic and commercial approach to airport planning, combined with its knowledge of the Fijian construction market. Future visitors to Fiji will benefit from an international shopping and food experience in world-class terminal surroundings.
The project has recently reached an important milestone, with New Zealand firm Hawkins Construction appointed as the Principal Contractor.
David Hudson, Thinc’s Aviation sector lead, said the team is delighted to be working in partnership with EC Harris and Hawkins Construction to help AFL deliver its vision of becoming the number one small international airport in the world.
“Together, we believe we are uniquely positioned to generate sustainable value at all stages of the aviation asset life-cycle and we are already seeing significant optimisation opportunities to improve outcomes for AFL, its customers and its wider stakeholders.”
Construction is due to commence 18th August 2014 with the project scheduled for completion in November 2015.
